Today  and  Future

WITH FULL POWER INTO THE FUTURE

The voluntary unification of Erlenbach and Mechenhard on January 1, 1976 and the incorporation of the community of Streit on May 1, 1978, resulted in a substantial increase in population. In autumn 2001, Erlenbach am Main registered over 10,000 inhabitants. Currently, our city is the largest municipality in the county of Miltenberg.

 FINANCIAL BALANCING ACTS

In recent years, the maintenance of existing infrastructure has become more difficult every year. Government sponsored "Volkshochschule" (adult education school), the School of Music, two public swimming pools, the municipal library as well as the "Weingut" (Wine Estate) are a constant drain on the finances. In-flowing funds are always hard to come by. The constant balancing act is a difficult task to tackle.
